Beyond borders
Allow yourself to be surprised by a preserved natural environment within easy distance of European capitals! Whether in terms of human presence, landscapes or traditions, the two sides of the border bear close resemblance. The existence of nature park sites on either side contributes even further to this similarity. Brought together under the banner of “Hainaut Cross-Border Nature Park”, our two parks work to develop their shared potential, promote the site, and protect the environment.
French and Belgian employees work together here to introduce people to the charms of this rural cross-border territory. Our cooperation, which dates back 20 years, does not only concern nature tourism. Our Franco-Belgian exchanges also focus on biodiversity, waterways, landscapes, educating school children about the environment, and so on. We hope you truly enjoy discovering all that we have to offer: forests, waterways, wetland areas, grasslands, slag heaps, remarkable trees, and more, as well as chapels, farms, dovecotes, abbeys, pitheads and even castles!
